PowerPoint offers 24 different basic layot formats, as shown below. When creating a presentation, carefully consider the content that you wish to include and choose the apppropriate slide based upon that content. The choice of slides controls the format of an outline of your presentation that PowerPoint creates and maintains in the background.

Note that only half of the autolayouts are shown on the New Slide dialog box, so you may need to use the vertical scroll bar to see more options. Whenever a specific layout is highlighted, a description of the layout appears in the bottom right corner of the dialog box. In the first graphic below, the Blank layout is selected. In the second graphic, the large object graphic is selected.
