Basic PC Operation

 

Page setup in Word allows you to set page margins (top, bottom, left, and right), paper size, orientation, and some more specialized layout options.

To enter page setup, go to the menu bar and select:
       File | Page Setup
(as shown in the first graphic below)

 

In the resultant Page Setup dialog box, you can type numbers or use the radio buttons to adjust settings. When setting margins, the gutter setting should usually be zero. (The gutter setting is used when the printed output is expected to be two-sided and with a binding or hole punches.) When you make changes, you can get an idea of the effect by looking at the preview in the dialog box.

 

Click on the Paper Size tab to adjust paper size or orientation. When setting orientation, be aware that portrait is vertical and landscape is horizontal. As with maring setup, when you make changes, you can get an idea of the effect by looking at the preview in the dialog box.
