Defeated the Illyeians- showed Alexander's power and gained respect
for him.
By doing this, he showed his superiority over the surrounding groups. This
also enabled Alexander to begin his campaign of victories.
Persia is conquered- Increased Alexander's empire and gave him much
more power. This was one of Alexander's fathers main goals that was never
fulfilled. Finally, this event marked a victory over Alexander's most powerful
and deadly enemy.
Jerusalem is conquered- In 332, Alexander conquered
this city. It marked the end of a massive amalgamation of land. It showed
Alexander's brute force once again, and established a famous, and incredibly
huge empire. It lasted until the Romans conquered the area over 150 years
later.
