The First Battle of Judas
After Judas took up to command of the Jews he sought to
rid Jerusalem of the enemy.
The main goal was to allow the Jews to worship freeely again.
The Maccabees were blockaded in the area of Jerusalem.
The Maccabees fought with weapons the are normally farmers tools.
Judas was the only one with a sword which he took from someone that he
killed.
The Syrians greatly outnumbered the Maccabees.
The Maccabees were not thought to be a threat to the Syrians.
Using sneak attacks the Maccabees one a small battle on the way to freedom.
