The Last Battle of Judas

Judas, after many battles with the Syrians, was met by the main army of the Syrians.

The king of the Syrians was tired of losing to the Maccabees in little skirmishes.

Judas was run out of the city to the Gophina Mountains.

Then, the Syrians marched out of Jerusalem towards the mountains.

The army consisted of 20,000 foot soldiers and 2,000 cavalry.

The Maccabees on the other hand had 800 poorly trained men with no weapons.

The Syrians marched out on the Maccabees and the Maccabees fought back hard.

Even though greatly outnumbered the Maccabees defeated the Syrians.

Though the battle wasnt a complete success
becuase a Syrian soldier snuck up and killed Judas Maccabee.
