Relation to Jerusalem

There are two major relations between Nero and Jerusalem. The first is that Nero was Roman and the Romans conquered Jerusalem. That is the smaller of the relations.

The second, which is the larger of the two, that was after Nero set fire to Rome, he blamed it on the Christians. He began to hunt them down and persecute them. Since the Christians were being persecuted they ran to Jerusalem. This is where they started a major Christian population. This led to the Christians arriving in the city of Jerusalem. So, Nero pushed the Christians into Jerusalem and that is how Nero is related to the start of Christian society in Jerusalem.

Nero makes Judea consular Imperial Province. Nero then appoints Vespasian, a close friend to assume control of the new province.
