Fish farms are basically what they are
called. They are areas either in ponds or rice patties where fish are raised
to produce food. Fish farms are a good source of food because they have a
very high input to out put ratio because in order to start a fish farm all
the people had to to was catch some fish from the wild and put them into
an enclosed area such as a rice patties and after a while you would have
a small self sustaining ecosystem so you wouldn't have to keep on feeding
the fish. But if people felt it was necessary they could. Another way fish
farms can be set up is bu either setting up cages or a series of nets to close
off an area of a lake so you could contain the fish in an area and when you
wanted to harvest the fish all you would have to do is pull the nets out
of the water. http://www.fao.org/docrep/003/x7156e/x7516e02.htm |
