During the Han Dynasty the Han military was busy fighting with the Hisung-nu. During the Dynasty the military pushed the Hisung-nu out of the Pearl and Red River valleys, which are today in modern Vietnam. In 133 b.c.e Wu launched a campaign that lasted eighteen years which pushed the Hisung-nu out from an area that was bounded by a dip in the yellow river. In 129 they were cleared from Chinas northern border. (World History p.157-158)
