        Silk is a very important resource in China. Silk was very valuable for trade especially with the romans. The Romans spent a lot of time trading for silk. Romans valued Purple silk at three times the price of gold while white silk was valued at 1/3 the price of gold. The Han also outlawed the export of the silk worms to ensure that they were a monopoly.
