Rob Day, Harrison Avart, Jim Rockafellow

Chandraguptra Maurya founded the Mauryan civilization in 313 BCE.  He took control after the withdrawal of  Alexander the Great.  He was succeeded by king Asoka, called the greatest of the Mauryan rulers.  Asoka ruled using Buddhist principles.  He was tolerant of all religions.  After his death the empire began to collapse.  It finally died when the final emperor was assassinated.
