Basic PC Operation

A cell address or cell reference is composed of a letter and number which represents the row and column that the cell is located in. Cell A1 is in column A in row 1. The cell below A1 is A2 because it is located in column A in the second row. Since there are only 26 letters in the alphabet, columns beyond column Z continue with column AA, AB, AC, etc to AZ, then BA, BB, BC, and so on. Row numbers continue down to the capacity of the spreadsheet.
