The easiest way to select an individual word for formatting is to double click on the word.

Among the other alternatives are the following:

  • Use the mouse to paint the word by holding the mouse key while move the pointer over the word.
  • Move the cursor to the beginning of the word and press {Ctrl-Shift-Right Arrow}
  • Move the cursor to the end of the word and press {Ctrl-Shift-Left Arrow}
